Mano Mundo

This weekend Wereldsolidariteit (the NGO I'm working for) organised Mano Mundo, a free intercultural festival, along with several other Belgian NGO's. It drew over 50.000 people to its site in Boom; the performances were great, the cocktails delicious and the atmosphere excellent. I went to see some bands and also took part in a salsa initiation (the salsa and the merengue- Patrick Swayze wasn't there but I managed fine :-) ).

About 600 people also got their picture taken for the campaign of Wereldsolidariteit- " the power of people togheter". See below! fee xx

the Planning... for now

Since yesterday, I started working on my projects for the next couple of months, it's definitely a Planning with a capital P!

I leave for Manila on June 4th with a colleague from 11.11.11 - the Belgian umbrella organisation of NGO's and with whom I'll share an office in Quezon City- and will work from there in the beginning. I'm flying to Bangalore (India) in September and will visit our partner organisations in the provinces of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In October, I have a meeting in Colombo (Sri Lanka), in the beginning of November I'm in Bangladesh to prepare the mision of Belgian people and then continue to Belgium for a short holiday and my sister's wedding of course, and then in December I'm going to Jakarta for another meeting and will also visit the partners in Indonesia.

Looks like the frequent flyer miles will be skyrocketing!
PS: there are 2 guard dogs in the office... I have to get over my dog phobia... quickly! pfff
