The ballroom dancing was a total disappointment! Yesterday after work, Barbs and I took our first lesson, well, not really, we spent about 5 minutes there… Total bummer!
When we arrived, there were only 4 other people there and they already knew how to dance, they were sweeping across the dance floor like in the movies. So totally ready to try it ourselves, Barbs and I asked for a dance instructor but there was none available! So how on earth were we supposed to learn it? We left asap, but I’m not going to quit that easily. I’m sure I’ll find another way to brush up my dance moves for my sister’s wedding!
After the failed dance lesson, I went to SM North, a big mall, to go and reserve my copy of “Harry Potter and the deathly hallows” (ok, maybe not something I should tell everyone, but the books are really amazing) and I got quite irritated… Philippinos are really nice, friendly and helpful but they have absolutely no clue when it comes to giving directions. I asked several people where to find a book store, they kept sending me to the other side of the building, to different floors, across the street to another mall, et cetera. And when you ask 2 people at the same time (eg. 2 girls that are shopping together) they say: “the book store is that way” and point in different directions… very funny (ironic)! After 1h of looking for the book store, I gave up and went home to eat, relax and play with the dogs. Who would have thought that would ever happen?

Well, euh, I thought it would be quite nice for a change? Maybe that will be my tribute to my sister? haha, no, just kidding... I just don't want to embarrass her (maybe taking up the ballroom act will just do that, hahahaha!)

PS:actually, the wedding is in Brussels, in the Africa Museum in Tervuren. So that location asks for a grand gesture!
Het lijkt er op dat je ondertussen je draai al goed gevonden hebt. Het leven lijkt er heel relaxed.
Geniet er maar van. Heb je trouwens al een slachtoffer voor de Aziatische ballroom dans in het Afrikaans Museum?

nog geen slachtoffer gevonden... vanavond ga ik op zoek, haha! Heb wel veel werk, enkele deadlines deze week dus zo relaxed wordt het voorlopig niet meer!

jou kennende zul je geen ekele moeite hebben om in het koloniënpaleis de show te stelen, en ik vraag niet liever! en als er iemand je zus zal in schaamte brengen, is het haar toekomstige man wel! als je er dan toch niet zo heel sterk in bent, dans dan dus met mij, dan ben ik sowieso diegene die afga, en concentreert men zich niet op jou.
en wat betreft je zoektocht naar een slachtoffer, doe geen moeite, ik zorg dat er 't een en 't ander aanwezig zal zijn op onze trouw, ik zou je alleen willen vragen een schoon décolleté + strooirokje aan te doen, en dan komt alles in orde!
iets anders, modern en trendy als ik ben, heb ik nu pas je blog ontdekt, en het is de eerste keer dat ik op een blog zit, het voelt cool aan... alleen jammer dat ik niet aan je foto's kan, hier op mijn werk lukt dat niet (websense...), thuis zal het wel lukken.
